PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

Dr. R K Dixit

Dear colleagues,

Across every medical specialty, the science of drugs remains the very backbone of rational and effective patient care. No clinical decision is complete without sound pharmacological understanding. Yet, despite its central role, Pharmacology today does not always occupy the position it truly deserves. With honesty and introspection, we must acknowledge that as custodians of this discipline, we share responsibility for this reality.

However, history reminds us that transformation often begins with realization. As the saying goes, “Better late than never.” This collective movement to unite pharmacologists from across the nation is not merely an organizational step—it is a decisive moment for renewal, identity, and resurgence. Together, this unity will yield enduring dividends for our specialty and for generations of learners and clinicians to come.

I am deeply confident that this organization will rise to remarkable heights and emerge as a powerful force in shaping the future of Pharmacology and Therapeutics. I express my heartfelt gratitude to my fellow pharmacologists for the trust they have placed in me. This confidence is both an honor and a profound responsibility—one that I embrace with humility, determination, and unwavering commitment. With your guidance, collaboration, and collective wisdom, I am certain that we can create meaningful change and leave a lasting imprint on our discipline.

As President of this unique and visionary organization, I extend my warmest compliments and best wishes to all faculty members, scientists, clinicians, residents, and experts dedicated to Pharmacology and Therapeutics. Let us stand together, united by purpose and passion, to elevate the stature, relevance, and impact of our specialty in medical education, clinical practice, research, and national healthcare.

Long live NPT

MESSAGE OF NATIONAL COORDINATOR

Dr. C M Kamaal

Esteemed Pharmacology Friends,

The National MD Pharmacology (NMDP) movement was initiated on 28 January 2019 through social media with a singular purpose—to safeguard and promote the academic, professional, and research interests of medical doctors specializing in Pharmacology. What began as a modest initiative with a few committed members soon transformed into a powerful national movement, driven by the overwhelming support, guidance, and encouragement of senior and eminent pharmacologists from across the country.

Over time, NMDP has evolved into a respected and vibrant academic platform, earning a distinct identity within the pharmacology fraternity. Its strength lies in the rich academic discussions, intellectual exchanges, and scholarly contributions of its members, which have collectively enriched the discipline and strengthened professional bonds nationwide.

A significant proportion of NMDP members are Heads of Departments, senior professors, institutional leaders, and experienced faculty serving in medical colleges, research organizations, and the pharmaceutical industry across India. With the solid foundation and continued support of NMDP, the National Association of Pharmacology and Therapeutics (NPT) is steadily emerging as a prestigious national-level organization—one that truly represents the collective voice of medical teachers, experts, consultants, scientists, researchers, and residents in Pharmacology and Therapeutics.

Today’s pharmacologists are actively engaged across diverse domains, making meaningful contributions to education, clinical practice, research, regulation, and innovation in medical sciences. At NPT, listening to, respecting, and valuing the ideas, experiences, and perspectives of our members remains central to our vision and functioning.

I warmly invite you to join this collective journey. Membership in NPT is not only professionally enriching but also personally fulfilling, as we work together with shared purpose to channel our energies toward strengthening our discipline and contributing to the health of the nation.

Together, let us continue to build, inspire, and lead.

Long live NPT. Jai Hind
